The Samaritan Inn
Thrift Store Donation Policy

New and gently used donations from the community are vital to Friends of the Inn Thrift Store and Thrift Store 2. Proceeds from the thrift stores help fund the programs and services provided by The Samaritan Inn. Residents of the Inn are also provided with vouchers to the thrift stores to purchase clothing and other personal items. Upon graduating, they receive furniture and household vouchers for their new place of residence.

Your cooperation is appreciated in following our donation policies and procedures:

•  Please DO NOT leave donations outside of the store before or after donation hours. These items are stolen,  vandalized and exposed to the elements which cause them to be unsellable.

•  We appreciate your understanding that we may not be able to accept items that we deem unsafe or unsellable. Accepting these items requires us to incur disposal costs which directly impact funding for our much needed programs.

Air conditioners

Carpeting/padding

Televisions manufactured
prior to 2005

Dehumidifiers

Exercise equipment

Furniture that is ripped, soiled or damaged or that needs extensive dismantling (such as bunk beds)

Household paints/or hazardous materials

Large household appliances

Magazines

Mattresses & box springs

Plumbing supplies

Swing sets & trampolines

Tires

Unframed mirrors

Dropdown, side rail cribs

Furniture pickups are typically scheduled 7 to 14 days in advance because of the high volume of donations and the limited staff available. Please contact us at 972.547.5567 for scheduling or other questions you may have about your donation.

Donations are Tax Deductible - A tax receipt will be provided to all donors.

DONOR PRIVACY STATEMENT
We will not sell or trade a donor's personal information to any other entity in existence unless we receive written permission from the donor, or lacking that, provide donors with an easy and user-friendly way to opt out of having their information sold or traded.
